After a nearly 6 year hiatus, the legendary Maine two-man band North of Nashville will be reuniting with a concert at one of their most beloved venues – aboard the Casablanca Cruise Vessel on Saturday, Aug. 28th from 1-4pm on Casco Bay in Portland, Maine.
2015’s New England Music Awards “Country Act of the Year” winners split in 2015 with co-founder Jay Bragg relocating to Nashville, TN – where his solo career is based – and Andrew Martelle joining forces with Maine’s own The Mallett Brothers Band. Separately, Bragg and Martelle have been had an incredible output in their post-North of Nashville efforts – Martelle recording and touring with TMBB and Bragg recording 2 records as well as opening for country legend Alan Jackson in Jackson’s 2018 arena tour.
The two have kept in touch throughout the years and tossed around notions of a reunion, but nothing had materialized. But when Bragg visited Maine in the summer of 2019 and the two former bandmates found themselves together at a house party and ended up playing many of their old songs for the first time since they split, both were reminded of the unmistakable – and unrivaled – chemistry the two shared playing their music.
Though there is no announcement on a lengthier reunion of the band, Jay and Andrew are very excited about recapturing the magic they made throughout their short but very successful run between 2011-2015 both in the Northeast and across the country. North of Nashville still enjoys a cult-following of fans that have been chomping at the bit for a reunion.
